When people need to kill a few minutes of their time waiting for transactions to be accomplished or transportation to arrive, a game machine in one’s pocket would be quite handy. It is even handier when it is incorporated into a gadget which almost everyone carry around anyway- the mobile phone. Games have been incorporated in digital cameras and MP3, so why not a phone?

Emerging technologies are enabling more innovative games to spark renewed interest in mobile phone games. There is the GPS for global treasure hunts, the cameras for augmented reality games and touch screens for better controls. What would probably set apart the mobile phone game from the others is the possibility that games can be used as a social tool that allows people to communicate while playing.
